When I was looking for a coastal summer getaway, this tiny house ticked the boxes. Located on a small farm only 15 minutes from the delightful beach town of Yamba, Clarence Valley Farmstay is a quiet retreat from normal life. Chickens run wild, and the goats do goat ”zoomies”, jumping over chickens and all over a couple of crates for your amusement. The tiny house is in its own corner of the property with bamboo trees to give you a sense of privacy, a comfy sunlounger to read a book and a firepit to sit around on those cooler nights.
Yamba itself is a place where time seems to slow down to the pace of the lapping waves and the community shares a love of sun, sand, surf, and the beauty of the natural environment. I spent my time here taking photos around the beaches, of waves and surfers, and taking breaks out of the sun sitting in cafes sipping on iced lattes. I swam in the ocean pool at Main Beach, walked the Breakwall, watched the surfers at Angourie Point Beach and browsed the various homewares and clothing stores in town.
If you’re looking for a slow weekend with the winning combo of country life and beach days then this is the place for you.
